Sleep deprivation
I know every person has their own story as to why they don't get as much sleep as they should, or why they get up in the middle of the night...Jody, come on, you're pregnant and then after the whole pregnancy thing you're going to have to have the kid too, so you won't be sleeping sound for many a night...doug, kind of works the same way for you...Meritt, I could make up some story now about why you don't sleep through the night, but I haven't heard anything as to why you wouldn't, and I haven't met you in person yet, so...congratulations on sleeping through the night! :-)
Normally, I do, no problem. I love sleep, I'm good at it. But these past 7 days, Kaia has been getting up to cough, and last night was the worst so far. Today V is going to call the pediatrician and have him write something up and fax it to Target so we can get our little girl all fixed up, because it's bad and we feel so bad for her.
Last night it was 5 am again when she got up. Mommy, being the good Mommy she is, got up with Kaia and rocked with her because her coughing was so bad. What a sweet Mommy. So I was only up for like 10 minutes and then I woke up briefly when V came back to bed after putting Kaia back to bed. But...after 7 nights in a row of disruptive sleep, and not the wake up and go right back to bed kind either, it really messes with you.
Rehearsal went well last night, I did some good things and felt good about some of the things, some of the things I didn't like, but I guess there's still time. I did do my first two characters sans script, so that felt good. I had some flubbs, but it was my first time trying it sans script.
I'm really not all that entertaining today or these past few days either...sorry people...I guess not a lot besides lack of sleep, sickness and rehearsal are going on in my life

Nope... I'm notorious for being awake during the night. ;) I'm the kind of person that if I wake up for ANYTHING during the night - I'm done for. I am a light sleeper and I come awake instantly. Then I start to fret about everything in the universe and spend the next 3 hours tossing and worrying. Usually I just grab a book and read until about 5:00 am and then finally fall to sleep.
It sucks.
As for Kaia... My little peanut just got over a nasty dry cough. Lasted about 2 weeks. No fever or runny nose though - just a horrible cough. We got over feeling sorry for her and actually we all started to give her dirty looks when we couldn't hear ourselves converse or hear the movie playing on tv, etc. LOL.

Lately I haven't had it too bad. Up once in the middle of the night to use the bathroom & right back to sleep. I'm tired all the time so sleep comes easily.
I know the baby is going to change things alot. I was actually talking to Doug about it the other night. My plan is that during the week I will get up with the baby as Doug will be working & I am staying at home. But I did mention that every time that baby monitor squawks he'll wake up. I guess you'll have to watch for the effects at work. :)
